Happy New Year

It wasn't until 2009 that I finally had my first "happy/good" year of my recent memory. Up until then, I had always despised New Year's Eve. While others would celebrate a happy passing year and a new happy year to come, full of hope and promise, I would use New Year's Eve to review how badly I had screwed up the passing year and how badly I would inevitably screw up the upcoming new year, too.

But since I finally got my act together and began making real progress last year, I'm going to be able to now say what I haven't said in about 10 years. I can now honestly celebrate the memories of a great and special year gone by, as well as look forward to an awesome upcoming year, too.

Finally I can say it without feeling like I"m just a pretender who is simply following along with everybody else. It's about time, too: Happy New Year!

And thanks to all of you have have been reading my blog. I always appreciate it when I know that people enjoy my efforts. I'm now expecting to fly back into the Philippines on February 17th 2010, and stay there until November 17th 2010. This next trip is a very ambitious one, as I'm planning on checking out several places I didn't have time to see on my first trip.
